Day 1: 90 Days Habit of Growth

Day 1: Last night, I realized something I hadn’t quite put into words before. I want to always have the HABIT OF GROWTH. The program that I have been on the past six months is all about healthy habits. It started with healthy
nutrition habits, but it has branched out to many many other areas. I cannot think of an area of my life that has not been impacted by applying the structure and tools and wisdom I am still gaining from this comprehensive program. The kind of healthy habits I want are the kind that are automatic, so instilled that I don’t even have to think about them. Just like brushing my teeth. I want eating healthy to be so automatic I don’t even have to think about it. I have come so far with my nutrition, it is a way of life for me now. I eat six times a day with portion control and great awareness of the balance between carbs (types of carbs) and enough protein. Same with my hydration, I get at least 90 ounces per day. Just these two new habits have changed how I feel on a daily, even hourly basis. Energy is even, moods are stable, metabolism is fast, never hungry or hangry, never too full. But, like I said above I want to always be GROWING. I want the pursuit of growth to be so automatic but I don’t even have to think about it anymore. I want growth to be my default. I feel joy in the growth. It fills me up. It’s not the arrival that provides that, it’s the earnest pursuit. There is no such thing as perfection just who I become because of the journey!!
The next 90 days, I am going to tackle parts of myself that are important to me now. It’s like a gateway has opened since getting healthy on a physical level to want more out of my life in general, to be able to dream again. The new energy I have, the new focus, makes me want to dive in and become my best self. It makes me want to get into my Bible, to pray more, to meditate consistently. It makes me want to practice. It makes me want to get stronger and work out. I am curious what will happen if I improve my sleep habits, and even the ritual surrounding going to sleep and waking up. So, for the next 90 days I am going to be leveling up in many of these areas. I haven’t mapped it all out yet, but once I do, I will share.

One thing that is still going strong…adding 30 seconds per day to my cycling. Well, it is going strong when I’m actually home where my cycle is ! So, when I’m not home, I have to come up with alternatives. One of my favorite substitutions is the equivalent time I would have been on the bike doing a Hiit walk/run, 30 seconds walk/30 seconds run.
